Although each of our programs and activities are impactful on their own, the true power is found in the interactions between them. Our Got Your 6 Network is the largest national nongovernmental network of organizations and stakeholders supporting veterans’ wellness.
At the community level, we work to strengthen local organizations’ abilities to meet veteran needs. We have over 100 local partners from 47 states (and counting), representing 3,000+ organizations collaborating locally to support veterans. Our aim is that every veteran – regardless of geography – can access the resources they have earned in the places they live and work.

We listen to our Got Your 6 Network for insights from the “boots on the ground” to understand the veteran experience and how support services operate and collaborate on a local level, in real time.
In 2021, we knew from our partners and research that food insecurity was the primary challenge facing veterans. To combat food insecurity, we deployed rapid stimulus funding, to our local partners across the country who were working directly with veterans to meet their day-to-day needs. At the same time, we structured grants that focused on alleviating the long-term causes of food insecurity in the veteran population. This work was made possible with generous support from our Got Your 6 Network champion, Craig Newmark.
Not only do we listen and learn from these partners, we provide value to them. We host regular skill-building and informational sessions, and have created forums for sharing information regionally so that neighbors can learn from one another and come up with ways to collaborate across county and state lines.
